What is Kidelon?
Parental-control software a father wrote for his own kids. 25 years of engineering + religious-education teaching + 3 kids at home.
What age range?
5-17. Age-based defaults; fully customizable.
Which devices?
Parent: iOS 14+ and Android 9+. Child: Android 9+ (incl. HyperOS, One UI). iOS Child app post-launch.
How many children?
Free 1, Premium 3, Family Premium unlimited.
Pricing
Is the free tier permanent?
Yes. 1 child + basic features free, no credit card required.
Can I cancel?
Anytime. One tap in App Store / Google Play subscriptions.
Refunds?
Platform policy applies (Apple / Google). Kidelon offers an additional 14-day no-questions refund on top.
What appears on my bill?
"HKSolutions Kidelon" / "Apple App Store" or "Google Play".
Security & Privacy
Who can see my child's data?
Only parents in the family (admin + members). The Kidelon team sees only anonymized metrics.
KVKK / GDPR compliant?
Yes. Data centers in Türkiye + EU. Designed against KVKK + GDPR + COPPA frameworks.
Are my child's messages read?
No. Message content, keystrokes, screenshots are NOT captured. Only app name + screen time + visited domain.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Settings → Privacy & data → Delete account. 30-day grace period before full erasure.
Setup
What is the pair code?
6-digit code generated in the parent app, valid 24 hours. Entered in the child app to bind devices.
Why 8 permissions?
System permissions required by Android for lock + filter + screen time + geofence. See the Permissions page for detail.
How to set up multi-parent?
Parent app → Family → Invite member. Partner accepts via email, sets their PIN, joins control.
Features
How does Lock work?
Two levels: soft overlay (SOS available) or strict system lock. Reason + duration + scheduled. Child doesn't know the PIN.
Is the web filter halal-aware?
Family Premium can enable a "halal category" filter — gambling, alcohol, inappropriate content categories blocked.
How is wellness scored?
4 dimensions: screen time, task completion, mood, focus minutes. Age + plan considered, 0-100 score.
Troubleshooting
Child app won't open
Verify all 8 permissions are granted (see the Permissions page).
Lock not working
Device Admin + Accessibility Service are required. Settings → Accessibility → Kidelon → On.
Premium not activating
Sign out and back in to trigger a RevenueCat sync.
Islamic features
How does the halal category filter work?
Categories marked in the domain database are blocked. Parents can customize the whitelist.
What is prayer-time mode?
Auto-locks for 15 min at each prayer time + silent mode. 60 min default for Friday prayer. City-based prayer data (Diyanet API).
Is there a Ramadan mode?
Coming soon — modes auto-switch around suhoor + iftar.
