25 years ago when I wrote my first line of code, I had no idea it would become the foundation of how I raise my own kids. I came to teaching religious education at middle school just as unprepared — but both jobs faced the same question: "How do we guide our children?"
As a father of three, that question came home. Two years ago when my eldest first hit the "screen time exceeded" wall on her phone, I had grown tired of saying "put the phone down." We tried off-the-shelf parental controls — one yanked the cord, another the kids could sidestep. Someone had to build one that worked with balance.
I started Kidelon for my own kids. First just a prototype that ran at home — then my wife said "why shouldn't other people's kids use this?" That question opened the door.
Today Kidelon is a 7-language app, sensitive to Muslim values (halal filter, prayer-time mode), built on a modern Flutter + Go stack — the grown-up version of code one father wrote for his own kids.
Other products I'll ship under HKSolutions follow the same philosophy: built around family, privacy, and child safety, blending modern and Muslim values with respect. Privacy Vault, Privacy Shield, SafeCircle, Family Tracker, islamicasistan.com — each its own story, all started in the same home.
