1. Delete data from within the app (recommended)
Open the Kidelon parent app and go to Settings → Privacy and data to delete the following categories individually:
- Location history: All recorded location points of the child are deleted. (Live location tracking remains active; only historical points are removed.)
- App usage logs: Logs of which app was open for how long are deleted.
- Web browsing history: Domain visit records of the child are deleted.
- Message history: In-family messaging history is deleted.
- Audit log: Parent action logs are deleted.
Each category can be deleted independently. Deleted data is permanently removed from servers within 24 hours.
2. Request data deletion by email
If you cannot access the app or you want to delete multiple categories at once, send your request to dpo@kidelon.com. Please include in the email:
- The email address registered with your account
- The data category you want deleted (location, app usage, web history, messages, audit log)
- Date range (optional; if not given, the entire history is deleted)
- Subject line: "Data Deletion Request"
The request is processed within 72 hours and a confirmation email is sent.
3. Automatic data deletion policy
Even without a manual request, the following categories are automatically deleted:
- Location history: records older than 90 days
- App usage logs: records older than 180 days
- Web history: records older than 90 days
- Messages: messages older than 365 days
- Activity events: records older than 90 days
4. Data that continues to be retained
Under legal obligation (KVKK Article 7, tax regulations) the following data is retained for a limited period:
- Billing and payment records: 10 years
- Anonymised audit summaries for legal evidence: 5 years
These records are stripped of personal identifiers before being retained.
